Overly confused in unfoldment, production winds on a rather indefinite note, as though the character of Jonas Wilde, portrayed by Richard Johnson, is to be called in again by the British government to pull chestnuts out of the fire.
Script is too vague to be conclusive and footage abounds in such plot and counterplot that audience is uncertain as to actual happenings.
Story thread focuses on Johnson, assigned to kill a Soviet scientist who has defected to the West. He is to do away with him before the Americans, who have him in custody, can question him.
Johnson makes a good impression with his role of an ex-Marine Commando and a karate expert, and lends conviction to his hard-hitting character. Carol Lynley as his girlfriend is pretty, but distaff interest rests primarily on Barbara Bouchet, as another secret agent.
